All Together Again

So Bill and Taylor are back from Ottawa and we're all together again. I think having time apart makes everyone appreciate the other that much more. I had some crazy days at work this week (last couple of weeks of August always are in a dental office) and it was nice to come home on those days and not worry about feeding and cleaning up after others! That being said it was so nice to hug Taylor again...and of course Bill too.

Tomorrow we'll head out for some camping at Miquelon Provincial Park. We could have a trailer full as we anticipate four more bodies to join us. So even though the evenings may be cool (-1 on Saturday), we should have enough body heat to keep us all toasty! Hopefully there will be no rain as that many in the trailer during the day is not as much fun as sleeping that many. Will keep you posted on how the trip goes!

Back on Monday, then the routine of school starts. I think Taylor is anxious to get back and see his friends and catch up on lost time! Grade eight already! SIGH! It has gone by too fast! Thankfully I have my scrapbooking to keep the memories fresh! Happy Labour Day weekend...Enjoy!

Sunflowers

So one of the reasons I love going home to Nova Scotia in August is not only can you expect decent weather, but Dad's sunflowers are in bloom. They remind why I wish I had planted some in my own garden, but never got around to it! Story of my life! So until I can remember to plant my own I"ll enjoy them in my Dad's garden!

Nova Scotia Fun

So I'm back from a week in Nova Scotia with Taylor. He has gone to Ottawa to visit Bill's family and will be home the end of the month. Bill is going to meet up with him this week and they'll fly home together! So what's a trip to N.S. without a lobster boil? Here are a few of those yummy bottom feeders! Marjorie (my sister), Taylor and I had a perfect day at Peggy's Cove. We climbed the rocks and watched the waves for close to three hours! My legs let me know how much exercise we did the next day!
Got to photograph lots of humming birds at my parents place in Cambridge. No shortage of bird action there!

A sight not seen everyday but still common enough. We managed to get pictures of this oxen team on my way back to my parents.

No trip to Nova Scotia would be complete without a trip to Summerville Beach! This is the most beautiful beach near Liverpool where my Aunt lives. The rain tried to keep us away, but it was no match for our "Dollar Store" ponchos! We had great afternoon! The kids ditched the ponchos and enjoyed the waves and water while the rest of us looked like Telly Tubbies.

So the longer I am away from "home", I am realizing that you can take the girl out of Nova Scotia but you can't take the Nova Scotia out of the girl!

One of the great moments spent on our tour with Don. He
was our personal guide for the day and took us to some great
fishing and sight seeing spots! Taylor was thrilled to have
finally brought in the BIG ONE! We cooked it up for supper
that night with some roasted potates....UmUmGood!

FLOWERS OR WEEDS

So, I am back to the world of "ON THE GO" again, after a week in Northern Saskatchewan. We were camping in Waden Bay, on Lac La Ronge. After a 10 hour haul to get there, we set up camp to enjoy a relaxing week on the lake. I will put on some photos of things we saw and did later. This entry is about the big debate along the way...flowers or weeds! Bill patiently stopped a few times for me to take some pictures of the beautiful wild flowers we saw along the way. I called them wild flowers, he called them weeds. Personally I think he just didn't want to stop for flowers any more!
