September 8, 2012

Seems like it's been a long time since I sat done and had some productive time in my craft room! With summer - comes lack of routine and our annual trip to Nova Scotia, late nights and trying to take in as much gorgeous weather as possible. Winters are just too long in Alberta, as the saying goes (I think!)..."make hay while the sun shines"!

Last week was the first week of school, grade twelve for Taylor (talk about time flying!) and a return to"some" routine! Daylight has noticeably shortened and the temperatures are cooler, though there is still lots of time for some gorgeous weather! With these subtle changes I find myself wanting to get back into my craft room in the evenings for some paper fun!

Last night Taylor and Bill went to the Eskimo's football game! I poured a glass of red wine and pulled out the September Sketchy Challenge from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and played! It was fun to watch this page come together and I am pleased with the end results.
Oxen Parade / September Sketchy Challenge / sketch designed by Sue Sykes

If you are feeling in a creative slump...grab a sketch and some pictures and just play! You might be surprised what you end up with! I have also heard that Sue Sykes has a contest running on her site if you  upload your layout using her design to her website! One more reason to get on board!
