Re-entering real life...

Well, it's August 23rd and I have successfully re-entered my life after two and a half weeks vacation in Nova Scotia. Lots of time was spent with family, friends and hanging out at our cottage. I just LOVE to get home to that Maritime air. We were also blessed with fabulous sunny, warm days...which has not been the case in Alberta this summer!

My favourite NS peeps ❤️ ~ note to self, when taking 'group selfies' with iPhone X...do not use portrait mode! I blurred my family out! 😂

I had a busy week on our return, and a very delayed flight home didn't help! That being said we got everything done that we had to! I had to quickly come up with a project for the Quietfire Creations Blog, as it was due on August 22nd. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it came together and I was pleased with the results.

I just LOVE this quote from Quietfire Design.

Coming home to my regular bed is always a good thing after being away. It's good for my body. My neck and shoulder continues to heal from disc and nerve damage and travel seems to take me several steps backward in the healing process.

Fortunately I came home to the latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, it's the magazine form of Advil ~ LOLOL! Be sure to get your own copy, it's AWESOME! I look forward to all the inspiration and reading the article on creating more space!

If you are a paper crafter, you need this in your hands...just saying'!

Until the next, thanks for  checking in!

Brrrrr...feeling like -38 with the windchill today. Not going out unless I absolutely have to, so I might as well catch up with some scrapbooking!

New Year, new January sketch for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's Sketchy Challenge! Here is a look at the sketch Sue Sykes designed for us:
Here is my completed page. I rotated the sketch around, because it just seems to be what I do!

FabScraps patterned paper & chipboard / Sizzix dies / May Arts Ribbon / Stampin Up stamps with acrylic paints / Bazzill Basics word stickers / Heidi Swapp sequin stars & buzz words

Looking forward to seeing all the uploads to the gallery, everyone always has such a different look to the same sketch! Stay warm!

October 26th! My birthday! Friday! A workday [this week!] and Friends With Flair Day over at Unity stamps!

Usually I have Fridays off so I think my weekend will seem short! My week however was kind of fun, work a day - off a day - work a day - off a day...you get the picture! Taylor's schedule has been crazy with 5 hockey commitments, 2 evenings of tutoring and a drum lesson that we ended up cancelling...sometimes you just have to let something go! Keeps us all running without time for any routine! Good for some, but I like a bit...it keeps me organized which I LOVE! Anyhow,we're making it through the week unscathed.

Here are a couple pages I  worked on last weekend and this week. The first one uses Unity Stamp's SWAK kit for September 2012 and will be linked to the Friends With Flair page! I loved this set as soon as the sneak peek came out!

The second is page was inspired by the fun picture of Taylor. I have been wanting to use it for some time, but was waiting for the right papers and idea to jump in my head. I LOVE how it turned out!
YUP! The boy cleans up well!

September

Well we are back from our holidays in Nova Scotia and have quickly resumed our routines! How does that transition happen so fast?

Taylor has started grade 11 this year and (so far!) seems to be happy with his courses and teachers. As the semester progresses we'll get a better feel of things. I am hopeful that he stays focused in an effort to improve his marks from last year

Bill is off to Winnipeg today for a quick overnight work trip. I am off today and have managed to get lots of paperwork updated and bills paid this morning. I will not feel any guilt this afternoon when enjoying what is shaping up to be another gorgeous day!

September weather is the best! The days have the potential to be warm and sunny, but the nights cool off so sleeping is so comfy! Sadly, it is what follows autumn that sends my head spinning! Today is supposed to reach 30C and the rest of the week is hot and sunny! Bring it on!

I have been slowing working away at going through my many pictures taken while in Nova Scotia. It takes so much time to weed through the best ones and get them ready to print, share, store. Fortunately it is a labour of love! Here are a few that I have uploaded to my SmugMug account:

I have so many more to go through and that means more to share. Hope everyone enjoys a fabulous day!
